Waters Insurance Agency Lends a Hand to Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg with $8,000 Donation

Parkersburg, W.Va., July 15, 2021, -- Waters Insurance Agency, a top performing independent insurance agency, partnered with Westfield Insurance to award the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg $8,000. The funds will go toward enhancing the three priority outcomes of Boys & Girls Clubs – academic success, good character, and healthy lifestyles through programs such as Positive Action, SMART Moves, Healthy Habits, and Triple Play. The youth of Parkersburg and the rest of the world have spent a year in isolation, this money will help the Club provide them with a sense of normalcy.

Access to the funds was made possible by Waters Insurance Agency’s achievement as a Westfield agency. According to Westfield Insurance, a Horizon designation is awarded to top agencies who have demonstrated a proven commitment to customers and superior performance industry wide. This year marks the fourth consecutive year Waters Insurance Agency has received this distinguished honor.

“Our team of agents were thrilled to not only be recognized once again for our responsiveness and customer-centric approach, but also to earn the ability to nominate the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg for Westfield’s Legacy of Caring Program. The awarding of these funds takes our commitment to community one step further as we work to build a brighter future for our area children and youth,” said agent Amy Caruthers of Waters Insurance.

This year, the grant program funded by Westfield Insurance Foundation, focused on supporting nonprofits that are helping families stabilize and recover from the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which made the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg a perfect fit.

“Receiving the call that we were nominated was a happy one, to receive the call that we had been not only chosen but would be receiving $8,000 was amazing! Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg is working daily to increase the impact we have on Parkersburg. With incredible gifts like this one we know our neighbors see the great work we are doing. With the support of Parkersburg and Wood County the youth we serve will build a better future for us all. We provide the tools, the resources, and the programs, but the youth create the change. It is all about their potential and helping them fulfill it. Thank you, Ray, John, Amy, Rebecca, and the entire team for believing in our mission,” said Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg Executive Director, Lynn Reins.

“We appreciate the staff, volunteers and supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg. They develop well-rounded programs that benefit the children and youth in our community, building confident and successful adults. Waters Insurance Agency is proud to contribute to this effort,” said agent John Fanta of Waters Insurance.

This year, Westfield Insurance Foundation will donate more than $600,000 dollars to neighborhoods across the country.
